Localization and Monitoring of WPS National Action Plan II in Nepal (LONAP)

The Localization and Monitoring of WPS National Action Plan II in Nepal (LONAP) project aimed to support the development of capacities and structures at local and provincial levels to ensure that the facilities envisioned in NAP II were accessible to conflict survivors, particularly those affected by Conflict-Related Sexual Violence (CRSV). The project assessed the implementation of NAP II at both local and national levels by identifying gaps, publishing monitoring results, and advocating for policy improvements and better implementation strategies at the provincial and federal levels. The Conflict Victim Women National Network (CVWN) was established as the leading secretariat for NAP II implementation in collaboration with various organizations, and the LONAP project played a key role in strengthening CVWN’s capacity to implement NAP II effectively. To achieve this, the project organized meetings with the Victims and Civil Society for Women, Peace and Security (VCS for WPS) Secretariat to discuss NAP II implementation, engage in advocacy, and plan future actions. Additionally, it focused on building the capacity of CVWN’s provincial coordinators, vice coordinators, central board, and staff through internal discussions, engagement with the Ministry of Home Affairs, and organizational structure evaluations to identify areas for improvement. Through these efforts, the LONAP project aimed to enhance the overall effectiveness and reach of NAP II implementation across Nepal. The project was implemented in partnership with Advocacy Forum Nepal and was completed in December 2024 after running from September 2023 to December 2024.
